Chontaduro Cream

A comforting and nutritious recipe with a tropical flavor, perfect as a starter or light dinner.

📝 Ingredients

  • 40 g of Chontaduro powder
  • 1 spring onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 bell pepper (red or yellow)
  • 1 glass of water
  • 1 tablespoon of wheat flour
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 200 ml of coconut milk
  • Pepper, salt and paprika to taste

🍳 Preparation

  1. Blend the powdered chontaduro with the garlic and paprika until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.
  2. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the wheat flour little by little, using a sieve, and mix well to avoid lumps.
  4. Add the blended mixture to the pan, stirring constantly.
  5. Add coconut milk, salt, pepper and paprika to taste.
  6. Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes, until thickened and the flavors blend.
  7. Serve hot, accompanied by whole wheat toast or croutons.
