Chontaduro Flan Recipe
Chontaduro Flan
A creamy dessert, bursting with tropical flavor and a hint of citrus. Perfect for rounding off a special meal or surprising with a unique flavor.
🍽️ Ingredients (4 servings)

50 g of chontaduro flour
-
3 eggs
-
400 ml of milk
-
400 g of sugar
-
1 tablespoon of water
-
Juice of 1 lemon
🍯 Preparing the caramel

In a small saucepan, simmer:

1 tablespoon of water
-
4 tablespoons of sugar

The juice of 1 lemon

Cook, stirring constantly, until the caramel thickens and turns golden.

Pour the hot caramel into the mold where the flan will be made, covering the entire base.
🍮 Preparing the flan

In a bowl, mix 200 g of chontaduro flour with the cold milk.

Add the eggs and beat until the mixture is well incorporated.

Strain the mixture to obtain a finer texture.

Pour it into the caramelized mold.
🔥 Cooking

In a large pot, add hot water until it covers ⅓ of its height.

Place the mold with the mixture inside the pot, making sure that the water does not enter the flan (bain-marie).

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 1 hour.
❄️ Rest and decoration

Allow to cool to room temperature.

Refrigerate for at least 12 hours .

Decorate with pieces of chontaduro and a little more caramel on top before serving.
