Chontaduro Bechamel Sauce

Ideal to accompany chicken, fish or seafood with a mild and tropical flavor.

🧾 Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 2 ½ tablespoons of powdered chontaduro

  • 2 tablespoons of butter

  • ¼ sliced ​​chives

  • 1 liter of milk (or chicken/vegetable broth)

  • ½ tablespoon of honey

  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg

  • 6 cloves of garlic

  • Salt and pepper to taste

🍳 Preparation

Step 1: Put the butter in a pan and heat.
Step 2: Add the chives and garlic cloves.
Step 3: Add the powdered chontaduro.
Step 4: Gradually pour in the milk or broth, stirring constantly.
Step 5: Add honey, nutmeg, salt and pepper to taste.
Step 6: Boil over medium heat until the mixture thickens.
Step 7: Serve hot over chicken, fish or seafood.

📝 Tip

You can add a touch of grated cheese at the end for extra creaminess, or use coconut milk if you prefer a dairy-free version.
