Chontaduro Cake

A soft and delicious tart that highlights the unique flavor of the chontaduro. You can prepare it in a sweet or savory version, perfect for breakfast, snacks, or as a starter.

🍽️ Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups of powdered chontaduro

  • 1 ¼ cups milk

  • 2 eggs

  • ½ cup of wheat flour

  • ½ tablespoon of vanilla essence

  • ½ glass of dry red wine

  • 2 tablespoons of butter

  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

  • ½ cup sugar (sweet version) or 1 tablespoon salt (salty version)

🍳 Preparation

1. First step
In a bowl, mix the powdered chontaduro (precooked for 1 hour in a pressure cooker), eggs, flour, vanilla, wine, butter, yeast, and sugar or salt (depending on the sweet or savory version). Mix well with a spoon.

2. Step 2
Add the milk and knead with your hands until you get a homogeneous mixture.

3. Step 3
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake for 20 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the baking dish comes out clean.
